On-Demand Visits | Boulder Care

Visits Available On Demand

The Pop-in Clinic is now open to all patients!

How do on‑demand visits work?

At Boulder Care, we use a team-based approach to care for our patients, meaning you may not see the same Provider or Prescribing Clinician at every visit. Instead, you can join a virtual visit whenever it is convenient for you.

You’ll be able to complete your Medication, Lab, Peer, and Case Manager visits in our Pop-in Clinic without pre-scheduling.

On-demand visits require some waiting while you’re in the queue, but the nice part is that you can go about your life while you wait to be seen.

We’ll send you text message updates to let you know that you are in the queue, and when your visit is ready to begin.

Plan

Pick a time that works for your day — we recommend mornings if possible.

For Peer, Lab, and Case Manager visits, simply check the app to see the hours the clinic is open and then begin.

For Medication (prescription refill) visits, we'll text you 2 days before your medication is expected to run out and remind you to come in for a visit. Jump in line anytime after your reminder — the sooner the better!

Tips

Check in

In the app, you’ll see a blue banner on your homescreen that says: “Complete your First Visit” or "Join the Pop-in Clinic queue."

Click through, tell us what type of visit you are here for, and we’ll match you with the next available provider.

Tips

Get ready

Make sure your phone is charged and find a quiet place with WiFi access so you’re ready for your visit. We may have a few tasks for you to complete while you’re waiting.

We’ll send a text message to your phone as soon as your visit is ready.

Tips

Get care

After we text you, you’ll have 2 minutes to join your visit! Open the app and start your video visit like normal.

If you are unable to join in 2 minutes, you’ll need to rejoin the queue so we can take care of another patient.

Tips

FAQs

What do I do if the queue is full?

Check back in 15 minutes. The queue usually opens up again quickly! You can also see the upcoming available dates and times in the app. Mornings usually have the shortest wait times.

What happens if I can’t get to my visit when my text comes in?

You'll have 2 minutes to join the visit once you're notified that your clinician is ready. If you can't start your visit in that window, you can leave the queue and rejoin later when you are able to get to a visit.

What happens if I have technical difficulties joining my visit?

We recommend starting by uninstalling and reinstalling the app on your phone — that often clears up most issues. You can also try logging out and logging back into the app.

If neither of those steps works, send us a message in the app, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Or call us at 866-901-4860 and we’ll help talk you through the steps.

How will I know when I can get my prescription renewed?

We’re keeping track of it for you! We’ll send you a text reminder 3 days before your prescription will run out. And another reminder the day before it does. You can join an on-demand visit anytime during that window.

How do I know when I should come for a medication visit?

You’ll receive text notifications reminding you that you need to refill your medication. You can join a visit starting 3 days before you run out.

How do I know when the clinic is open?

You can see the clinic hours in the app. Click on the blue banner on your homescreen to go to "Complete your Visit" and you’ll see the hours before you join the queue.

What happens if I miss my visit?

With visits that are on demand, you won’t have to worry about missing appointments. You’ll just join the queue when it’s convenient for you.

What if I want to talk to someone when my prescription isn’t coming up?

You can visit with a Peer or Case Manager on demand anytime! You can also send us a message in the app and someone on your care team will get back to you asap.

I only have a small window of availability. Can I still see someone?

Don’t worry! Join the queue at the clinic when you can. If you run into any issues, or can’t make it to a visit before your medication runs out, call us and we’ll get you taken care of.

My clinician told me I’m still supposed to schedule appointments. Do I still do visits on demand?

If you and your clinician discussed staying on a specific visit schedule for any reason, you will continue to do your follow-up visits by making an appointment either with your clinician or by calling us. We’ll tell you when you can start using on-demand visits.

Will the clinician I see know what I need if I haven’t seen them before?

Every clinician at Boulder makes sure you receive the same quality of care. You’re in great hands no matter who you see. And we make sure everyone on the care team knows what they need to about you, so you’ll never have to walk a clinician through your history again after your first visit.

What if I need to see the same clinician I’ve seen before?

If there’s ever a time you need to have some dedicated time with a specific clinician, we can make that happen. Give us a call or tell your clinician in your visit.

What if I have questions or problems with my prescription?

Like always, you can call us at 866-901-4860 or send a chat to your care team. We’re here for you!

Who will I chat with if I have questions or problems?

You can still chat with your care team in the app – that hasn’t changed! We’ll continue to respond within one business day.
